With more than half a dozen books under her belt, the hardest thing Johnna had to pen was one of her most personal pieces. The St. Louis Native smiles on her social media posts, but underneath she harbors a pain that only an author could describe. Johnna does that well. She was recently signed to Urban Books and is set to release her latest and final novel which is a memoir. It is entitled Custom Made Straight Jacket and is available now on Amazon. Enter into the world of Johnna. Buckle up. She’s an exciting ride!

I asked her a few questions so everyone can get to know her better. Her answers were awesome.

Describe in 3 words your current work in progress –
Inspiring, motivational, and uplifting

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? I would love to have my book cafe up and running. I would also like to have authors signed under my publishing company possibly turning books into movies or plays. It’s has been a dream of mine to help other authors achieve their goals as writers.

if you weren’t an author what career would you have chosen
I’ve always wanted to be a nurse.
Tell us the story behind your current work. What inspired you to write it?   My memoir will be my next release. I’ve always wanted to tell my story because I believe my story would help women who are struggling to get out of their current situation. I wanted to let people know there can be life after death.
Who is your favorite character? ME!!! Lol

What character and/or scene was hard to write and why.  My mother’s death was the hardest thing I had to write out because I went into every detail of how I felt. I had to relive the worse day of my life.

What’s your favorite part of the writing process? Writing is a wonderful release even if you’re just journaling. Whether it’s writing a story or venting about my day, it has always helped me.
Who is YOUR favorite author? Stephen King and K’wan Foye. I couldn’t just pick one all-time favorite.
